Hong Kong
The Battle of Hong Kong in December 1941 was one of the first battles of the Pacific Theatre. The Japanese force of approx. 52,000 men prevailed over British, Canadian, and Indian troops capturing 10,000 men. Bill Chong (Agent 50) successfully crosses Japanese lines to smuggle POW’s into “free China”. Kendall also escapes Hong Kong and the two meet up.

Kuala Lampur
Authorized by Lord Mountbatten, Force 136 operatives train with the Malayan People’s Anti-Japanese Army. Ernie Louie is only one of 10 selected from the second group. He joins the all-Canadian Tideway Green team.

Melbourne
Oblivion operatives are reunited with Kendall in Australia on Nov. 12, 1944. They begin ‘agent’ training including; surveillance, ‘jungle training’, submarine and parachute training.

Oro Bay
On October 1, 1944, ten Oblivion operatives travel with Major Legg on the U.S. troopship SS Lurline from San Francisco headed to Melbourne, Australia. The ship is re-routed to the Philippines by General MacArthur. Legg gets the captain to drop them off in Oro Bay, at a deserted American supply camp.

Poona India
Major Legg is authorized by the Canadian Government to select 150 more Chinese Canadians for secret training. He finds 123 men, who along with the original 13 Oblivion operatives form the new Force 136. Kendall runs the Eastern Warfare school in Poona – specialized in wireless communications, decoding, and explosives. Among the India recruits is Roy Mah.

Oblivion operatives Captain Roger Cheng with Sergeants James Shiu, Louey King, Roy Chan and Norman Low, volunteer for Operation Hippo set to repatriate POW’s in Kuching. The men traveling with Iban headhunter tribe members were to meet up with Australian ‘Z’ Special Unit operatives.
